The New Testament is the second major division in the Bible and was written in Koine Greek. It an anthology that consists of 27 books. It tells of the historical events of the life and times of the Lord Jesus Christ, the long awaited Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. It also tells of the spread of Christianity through the early church in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.


The New Testament is broken up into three major sections: History, Letters, and Prophecy. The first five books are History and the last book is Prophecy. All the books in between are Letters to various churches and people.
